Play By e-MailA compilation of advice and personal experienceThis is collection of PBeM rules and advice which I used when I ran a PBeM Vampire game set in Roman Britian. The goal of thses pages is to help others woh want to start running a PBeM game but have no previous experience. My game was a politics-heavy combat-light Vampire game, so obviously the rules here are not suitable for all. However, the how-to articles I've included should give ideas for other types of games. Finally, I've included some links to enable you to explore PBeM further. The most repeated advice in these rules is one I can confirm from experience: writing and running a PBeM takes a lot of time and energy. My game foundered because of lack of time and having to use an e-mail connection at work. Most of the work included here is not my own. I have reproduced it here because it represents all the material I had to work with when setting up my own game, and it sould be enough to let you do the same (although hopefully with longer lasting results. I have tried to make sure that I have given credit to the orginal authors in all the documents. If I have missed anyone out, or anyone would like me to remove a piece, please e-mail me and I'll fix it. Especial credit goes to Paul Strack, who helped me in designing the system I used for my own game, and who has his own excellent Vampire the Masquerade setting, Alternate New Orleans by Night Articles and Advice
How I Did It Myself: Examples from my own game.
