Garou in Roman Britian

Much is Britain is a stronghold for Garou and interactiong with them is likely to be an important part of the game.

I have nothing written for Mages or Changelings, mostly because when I ran SiaSS neither of those games had been published! Changlings at least certainly ought to be a major force in Celtic Britain and are unlikely to be friends of Rome.

Lupines

At the moment the Kindred/Lupine situation is rather different to that described in VtM.

Since Werewolves are people too, really, I don't think they are fundamentally aginst agriculture and pastoral life. What they will eventually object to is large-scale urbanisation and pollution. In the modern world, Kindred are seen as the agents behind industrialization and urbanization, since the Kindred favour cities.

However all that lies in the hypothetical future.

Therefore, at the moment, Garou tolerate Vampires, regarding them as another predator and part of the natural order. Of course, if they attack the Garou or their kin, they will be fought. In general, however, peace reigns. So, it's quite possible that Grigori the Gangrel may have Garou friends, or at least aquaintences.

The Garou are prominant among the Celtic peoples, where they often form the warrior elite of the tribe. This gives them plenty of scope for fighting and raiding. Therefore, they have been largely against the Roman advance. However, they were too disorganised to provide effective resistance. Venture, Toreador and other 'Roman' Kindred will be disliked by most Garou. On the other hand, Gangrel, Brujah and Nosferatu, who oppose Rome in Northern Europe, will be generally regarded as allies.

The Goddess maintains a peaceful relationship with the Garou of Britain. As they are culturally Celtic, many follow her religion, although not usually with a great deal of devotion, as most Garou worship single aspect Earth Goddess, who they believe is responsible for their creation. The more powerful among them, who know something of Kindred, can see no protfit in arguing against the divinity of a being so powerful that for all practical purposes she _is_ a goddess.

In return, she respects them as more then mortal. She will never slay a Garou who is sent to the Goddess as a sacrifice, although she has no compunctions about doing so in battle. However, they are usually kept in the caverns for a while. Some are even taken to her haven via a long and tortuous route which requires many long underwater hauls. There they are kept, often for weeks, for conversation and entertainment. This experience is so deeply stressful and traumatic, even for a Garou, that few are willing to risk it.
