Bill BartonBackgroundBill was born and raised in Leeds. As a child, he avoided school and his teachers described him as "lacking application". He left as soon as possible and became a brick layer. Bill rarely spent more than six months in the same job but usually found other work as a builder or handyman. He got married at the age of 28. In order to earn a little extra money, he began selling building materials. Unfortunately his employers noticed and he was sacked again. Although they suspected that Bill was stealing from them, they couldn't prove it and the police were not informed. As a result of these thefts, his wife Karen left him, taking Samson the dog with her. Bill moved to a bedsit in Bradford after his divorce, hoping to escape from his ex-wife and unfortunate reputation. Many of his friendships were disrupted as a result of his sacking, divorce or move from Leeds. Bill's closest friend is his brother Benjamin in Leeds. He is also still in contact with two of hisshadier friends; Keigh Clegg, a fence in Leeds and Frank, a new friend in Bradford who has given Bill some cash-in-hand building work and other less legal employment. Having spent a lot of time on the streets, Bill has a good knowledge of the shadier side of street life. Whatever it is, he knows who sells it and where to get it. Between his formal training in the building trade and some experience of breaking and entering, he has an unusual knowledge of security systems. You play the harmonica; but not very well. Bill was embraced by Emily, a Sabbat Brujah, in January, 1996. After first meeting the Council of York, Bill was adopted by Matthew McCrae, the senior member of the Brujah Clan in the fief and a member of the Council. Physical DescriptionAge 35, 5'10", medium/heavy build, black hair, grey eyes, clean shaven. Bill is are unusally tough and strong and surprisingly agile for a man of his build. This makes him a dangerous opponent in any fight. He is unusually quick to react when surprised. Bill prefers to brawl although he has some skill in the use of knives and other weapons. He is never truly frightened and considers physical violence to be a reasonable way of settling an argument.CharacteristicsBill is not clever in an academic sense but he has an innate understanding of people and what they want to hear. He is very frightening when he wants to be and what he cannot get by intimidation, he can usually gain by lying. Hisr conscience rarely bothers Bill. He considers theft to be a reasonable means of earning a living. Other people find it difficult to annoy him.
