Domenique

Known as:-
  • Domenique
  • Tracy Glaister

Background

Tracy was always the problem of the family. When people asked her mother "And how is Tracy then?" it was always with trepidation, fearing the next embarassing escapade. Eventually they stopped asking and her mother turned her attention to her three other, more biddable children. After what her social worker called 'a cry for help' and the police described as arson, Tracy was taken into care by the council.

There she met other girls from 'problem families', who opened a whole new life for her. They knew of much better ways of having fun than vandalising the neighbours cars and they knew how to get money to pay for them. Soon, she had been introduced to Diamond Charlie and deciding the social workers had become a bore, she ran away.

Diamond Charlie was nice. If there was any trouble, he could sort it. Often it seemed, he only had to walk into the room for tempers to cool. Unlike most of the pimps she knew, he took a longer term view of his business, giving his girls more money to keep themselves looking good. The other girls in her house said he was starting up another string of 'posh' women for the businessmen in the center. Perhaps if they could impress him, he'd move them there. Tracy didn't think there was much of a chance for most of them, but made sure she always looked her best when Diamond was coming round.

Tracy quickly decided that the other girls were stupid. Sure, they got a lot of money from their 'customers' but they blew it as fast on drugs. Tracy changed her name to Domenique and began saving her money. She rented her own flat, and even bought herself a second hand mini on her 17th birthday. Before she could start lessons, however, Diamond Charlie visited her.

He agreed that most of the girls he ran were stupid, but she was different. He was a busy man, he said and needed someone to help out in his 'business'. He knew she was good with money, wasn't this nice flat proof of it and he had a friend who could teach her everything else she might need to know. Someone called the Prince owed him a favour, he said, and if she would agree to join him, they would be together 'forever'.

Domenique reacted bady to the change. The Embrace had frightened her, as did the Thirst and she clung to Diamond as the only anchor in the bewildering new world. She wouldn't hunt and Diamond was forced to bring her members of his own herd. More than once, she frenzied through waiting too long to feed and he had to restrain her. She was insanely jealous of the girls in his herd and would spend all night fretting about him when he left the flat. Diamond was irritated. He had wanted a business partner, not a child who clung to him constantly. After a few weeks of ineffectual comforting, he began to threaten her. He hadn't presented her to the Prince yet and he could undo what he had done just as easily.

Terrified and angered by his threats, Domenique at last found the courage to venture outside. She wandered around the fief, coming to terms with and eventually revelling in her new powers. Then, travelling further than she usually did, she decided to visit the nightclubs in Wakefield. There she met Niccolo. At first she was frightened, because she had stayed away from the kindred of Leeds but Niccolo was gentle and almost shy. Soon he had coaxed from her the story of her Embrace and Diamond Charlie's cruelty since. "But why don't you run away?" he asked, sounding surprised that she hadn't thought of it herself. "Stay here with me. I'll make sure Diamond doesn't harm you."

So Domenique didn't return to Leeds. For a couple of nights she felt safe in Wakefield, then she began to worry about Charlie. She was sure that he would come looking for her. Perhaps if she could give him something else to worry about, he would leave her alone. Using her old friends, she found out when Charlie's latest shipment of drugs was due and tipped of the police. However, she hadn't realised what a large delivery it was. What was intended to be a mild distraction for Charlie has turned into a major disaster. Now she is even more frightened of Charlie and needs her new friends for protection.

Domenique has become an anarch almost by default. She knows that Charlie is friends with some of the Ventrue and that because she has not been presented to the Prince, Charlie can kill her without fear of punishment if he can find her.

Clan

Brujah, age "17", generation 12, born 1979, embraced 1994, by Diamond Charlie.

Image

Despite her rather hard life, Domenique has a sweet, waif-like appearance. She is only 5" tall and had short, naturally curled auburn hair and large brown eyes which can make her look very wide-eyed and innocent when she she wants to. She usually dresses in jeans and large fluffy jumpers but also has a wild selection of party gear for hunting in.

Influence

Niccolo likes her, mostly because she hasn't let him see how scheming she can be. He would do his best to come to her aid if she was in danger. Jeanette loves her too and has been blood bonded by Domenique, although Niccolo doesn't realise it yet.

Habitat

Domenique shares Niccolo's haven on the caravan site, although she usually has access to the flats of her current 'boyfriends'. She usually hunts in the clubs in Wakefield, although very occasionally, she will pose as a prostitute and feed from clients. She doesn't do this regularly because it often makes her frenzy and she has killed three men already.

Ultimate Goal

Domenique wants revenge on Charlie and to ensure her own safety. She has begun to rather like her new life and want to make sure it will continue. She is using Niccolo to protect herself from Charlie. She has already realised that the key to power in Kindred society is controlling others so she has blood-bonded Jeanette.

Immediate Goal

Find out how Diamond is reacting to the loss of the drugs and what he is planning to do about her.
