Ibrahim Golamreza

Background

Ibrahim had always been a loyal member of the Assamite Clan and he held the honour of his Clan and his own good standing within it to be more important even than the quest for unity with Caine. Twenty years after his induction into the Clan, he would swear to anyone who asked that he had no memories of his mortal life and Alamut was his only home. He prided himself on never having refused an assasination offered to him by his Elders, on the difficulty of the contracts entrusted to him while still young in Kindred years and on his unblemished record of success.

After Ibranim had risen through the lower ranks of the Clan, his own sense of status and honour demanded that he be permitted to create a Childe. Although he honoured his own Sire, he knew himself to be much superior and felt that his prowess had overshadowed the honour and respect of his Sire in the eyes of the Clan. He delayed for many years, seeking for a mortal who's Embrace would reflect sufficiently upon his own honour and judgement. At last, Ibrahim found a mortal of pure Middle Eastern descent and in whom he felt he could see his own ambition and physical prowess mirrored. However, when he presented his request to the Elders, he was turned down. Wait another few decades, they told him - true wisdom comes only with the passing of years and recruits to the Clan must be chosen only by those wise enought to make a good choice.

On one of his next missions, Ibrahim was sent to Greece to deal with a Settite who had angered a Ventrue Prince there. While on the mission, he met some strange Kindred who seemed to understand totally his frustrations with the hide-bound Elders. They hinted that they knew of much quicker ways to power than mindless obedience to fossils whos' most modern ideas came from the Crusades. In fact, they whispered, it was not impossible for Assamites willing to take the risks and endure the trails involved to rid themselves of the ancient Tremere curse. The Elders of Alamut kept this knowledge from their neonates out of fear and to allow them to continue the tithe of blood. Unfortunately, the Kindred he had been sent to deal with was one of their friends...perhaps if Ibrahim could see his way to 'forgetting' his assignment, then they could discuss further their information.

So Ibrahim returned to Alamut and reported that his victim was dispatched. At first he was worried that the Ventrue Prince would discover the truth and inform the Elders of Alamut that the Settite still lived. However, the Snakes had vanished from his fief, so the Ventrue considered the job well done. Ibrahim settled uneasily back into Assamite life, both hoping and fearing further contact from the Settites.

After a period of over two years, the Settite he had met in Greece returned to meet Ibrahim when he was again on assignment, this time in Germany. He took Ibrahim to a Second World War concrete bunker deep in the Black Forest. There, in the tunnels beneath the bunker he showed Ibrahim the bound bodies of six Garou. He informed Ibrahim that in order to break the Assamite curse, it was neccassary to commit Diablerie on an Embraced Werewolf - an Abomination. In order that Ibrahim could be sure the Settites were not deceiving him, he could embrace the Garou himself. However, because the Embrace of Werewolves was notoriously unreliable, he should Embrace all six and they would hope that one would survive the Change.

In fact, the Settites were lying to him. They had discovered that Assamite blood was particularly potent in the creation of Abominations. When combined with certain rituals, it resulted in an almost one hundred percent success rate and they planned to create an army of Abominations in the service of Set. When Ibrahim awoke the next evening, he discovered himself to be staked in his coffin. The Settites informed him that they already had more Garou and would use him to Embrace them when they had finished Blood Bonding the five survivors of the first attempt.

Ibrahim remained in the coffin for two more days. However, when dawn approached after the third night, he made a supreme effort of willpower and managed to move his hand enought to withdraw the stake. Moving quickly, he found a store of petrol for the generators and dowsed the complex. Setting it ablaze, he watched the entrance from the forest and, although almost blinded by the rising sun, he ensured no-one escaped.

Riddled with guilt for his betrayal of the honour of the Clan, he returned to Alamut to confess his crimes and ask for the Final Death to erase his shame. However, the Elders decided they did not wish to lose such a skillful assassin. So although they stripped him of his rank within the Clan and fined him the total of his accumulated Blood, they did not kill him.

After almost five years, however, came the news that an Abomination was loose in the forests of Northern Europe. Ibrahim was dispatched to remove the last trace of his misdeeds. After it's escape from the blazing bunker, the Abomination had wandered far to the north, finally joining a small group of Black Spiral Dancers in Norway. Ibrahim tracked it to it's Hive but was unable to penetrate the Hive's spirit defences. Eventually, he laid an ambush outside the Hive. Many Dancers were killed, but the Abomination managed to escape the trap and fled again, this time to Scotland.

Ibrahim then spent several years both finding his Childe and learning more about the Black Spiral Dancers in order to ensure his next attack was successful. He decided to make a base of operations close enough to the Abomination but far enought away that it wsn't alerted to his presence. He chose the fief of York. He presented himself to the Prince of the fief, telling him only that he was hunting an Abomination, not that the creature was his own Childe. The Prince granted Ibrahim leave to say in the fief, with several provisos. Firstly, his presence was to remain an absolute secret to the other Kindred of the fief. Secondly, he was to report to the Prince at regular intervals. Finally, he was to carry out no assasinations within the UK without first informing de Lascy.

Ibrahim agreed reluctanly and has remained in the fief ever since. The only Kindred in the fief to learn of his presence other than the Prince is Josef Pzasinski. The Nosfertau has willingly kept quiet about the stranger in the fief - he is sure the knowledge will come in useful one day.

Clan

Assamite, 10th generation, age "27", born 1918, embraced 1945, by Rashid Al-Rani, arrived 1976

Image

Ibrahim shows his Middle Eastern origin very strongly. His skin is beginning to darken even more as he ages and with his thick dark hair and aqualine features he is very handsome and most unvampiric. In order to keep his identity a secret, he dresses in modern clothes and takes care to keep up with current speech and customs.

Ibrahim has spent a long of time searching for his Childe. When he meets others, he thinks only of how they can help or hinder him. He is quietly spoken but curt and very careful in what he reveals. He will never mention his Clan. However, it gives him great pain to have to pretend to be from another, lesser Clan, so he prefers to say nothing rather than lie.

Influence

None now the Prince is dead.

Habitat

Ibrahim is primarily concerned with keeping his presence in the fief unknown. He frequently changes his Haven, living within the Asian communities which the other vampires do not frequent. He occasionally visits Josef Pzasinski to obtain information about the fief. Ibrahim prefers to feed at service stations and hotels on the outskirts of the city.

Ultimate Goal

Destroy his Childe and redeem himself in the eyes of his Clan.

Immediate Goal

Ensure the disruptions in the fief don't endager his status and his plans. He intends to approach the new Council at a future date and perhaps improve his conditions of residence.
