Matthew McCrae

Known as:-
  • Matthew
  • McCrae

Background

One of the early Methodist preachers. Matthew was Embraced as the fief began to expand because Simeon of York wanted to make sure the Brujah stayed in an important position in the fief. The Guardians approved Simeon's choice and have linked several of Matthew's achievements in the fief to their Prophecy. McCrae is very clever and a brilliant speaker.

Still devoutly religious, Matthew possesses "True Faith". The fact is not widely known in the fief but many of the lowest Humanity Kindred feel uncomfortable around him. Of course, Matthew doesn't call his abilities 'True Faith', merely noting that the Lord often works through him to help those who are suffering.

Matthew dislikes the Garou, mostly because of what he sees as their Pagan beliefs. He was asked to support the Treaty by his Sire on the orders of the Guardians. He reluctantly accepted this because of the benefits the treaty brought to the Kine of the fief. Now that his sire has died the Final Death, McCrae's anti-Garou sentiments are becoming more pronounced. He is willing to back action against them, provided he can be persuaded it will not harm the Kine.

Secrets

McCrae is the only Kindred in the fief now who knows about the Guardians. He would never divulge this secret. He also knows a surprising amount about life and happenings on the streets, which he often finds gives him an edge over the Elders who inhabit the rarified heights of Elysium.

Habitat

McCrae still preaches as a Methodist minister, although he obviously cannot act as the minister of a chapel. Instead, he preaches amongst the homeless and destitute, spreading the word as the orginal Methodists did. He has Havens in several hostels (which conveniently close during the day). McCrae travels around the fief, keeping an eye on his flock. Matthew feeds as little as possible and he is especially careful to avoid hunger frenzies. He has a small and select herd drawn from volunteers at homeless refuges.

Ultimate Goal

Spreading the word of God amongst the Kindred and saving as many of their souls as possible.

Immediate Goal

Saving the soul of his newly adopted neonate.

Ensuring that the existance of the Guardians remains a secret.
