Rainbow LakeBackgroundWhen Rainbow's parents christened her Nellie, they may have had some uncomfortable intuition about her future. Perhaps they were hoping it would lend her a steady, sensible nature. But the sixties got into Rainbow's blood. She was a flower child, forever stoned in the pusuit of oneness. She changed her name and prepared for the Age of Aquarius. Some people have said that Rainbrow's Embrace was a sign that even the Ventrue were affected by the magic of that time. However, the more practical reason was a desire by the London Ventrue to infiltrate the peace movement, which they feared was a cover for Tremere activies. After the collapse of Flower Power, Rainbow became a grave embarassment to her sire, who avoided her as much as possible. This suited Rainbow fine. The company of most other Kindred, especially Ventrue gave her bad Karma. Many of them reminded her horribly of her parents. She travelled the country, visiting festivals and peace protests, trying to keep the hippy dream alive. Then, in 1987, she met someone special, someone with who she could share her dream and eternity. Over the camp fire, Roger's inner child spoke to her through the portals of his soul. Unfortunately, it was lying. Roger has proved a bitter disappointment to Rainbow. Unwilling to believe her intuition could be so far wrong, she has convinced herself Roger is 'in denial' about his true inner self. The two of them moved to York after Roger got over his head in the Machiavellian politics of the London Ventrue. She likes the fief, mostly because it gives her the freedom to wander the countryside, seeking tranquility and strange herbs. Totally uninterested in power or social staus, Rainbow is about as far from a typical Ventrue as can possibly be imagined. If she could ever get her act together, her views on equality and sharing would make her an anarch. However, she would never dream of imposing her views on anyone and prefers to spread her message of love through example.
