Christopher RainhamBackgroundIn 1952, Lord Marcus fell head over heels for a young playwright in Leeds. The young man, Simon Faulkner, was at first flattered by the money and praise lavished on him by Marcus. Later, as the Blood Bond began to take hold on him, he returned Marcus' love with equal enthusiasm. This would have been merely another of Marcus' obsessions. However, about six months after they met, Simon's first play was staged in Leeds. Convinced of it's success, Marcus used his contacts to arrange for an influential London critic, Christopher Rainham, to attend the performance. Unfortunately for Marcus and Simon, the reviewer was less than impressed. Horrified by the thorough demolition of his play in the next day's papers and too ashamed to face his patron, Simon hanged himself. Marcus was distraught. He tracked down Rainham, who had gone to visit friends near Halifax. Vowing he would punish him by tearing him away from all those he loved, Marcus embraced the critic and abandoned him on the outskirts of Bradford, hoping that the Garou would find and destroy him before the Council learned of his impulsive action. Fortunately, Christopher had met Anne Cartwright at several theatrical functions. Despite the terror of his Embrace and the confusion of the Hunger, he guessed at her true nature and sought her out. She protected him from further vengence by Marcus. He has become part of the Bradford Vampire group. As well as continuing to write for newspapers under various pseudonyms, Christopher has also written a few plays, which have been staged by local groups. To his chagrin, they are never quite as good as he had hoped. Still, with an eternity to improve, he has ambitions to reach the West End one day. ClanToreador, generation 9, age "48", born 1904, embraced 1952, by Lord Marcus.ImageEven in life, Christopher preferred old style, faintly Victorian clothes. He thought it made him more distinctive and helped his 'serious' image. He had kept this style up after death, saying that it keeps him from bothering about fashion. Rather exacting and intellectual. He always wants to know _why_ people think what they do, which many people find hard work and rather intimidating. It would surprise him to realises that some people find him so.Influence-Secrets-HabitatChristopher still loves the theater and spends most of his evenings attending productions in one of the theaters in the fief. Christopher also likes to travel and often leaves the fief to visit the London theaters or go abroad. Because of this, he has no permenant home, usually renting a flat when he is in the fief. This casual attitude rather horrifies the Elders, especially Marie. He usually feeds at the theater, attracting someone from the audience or cast with his Presence.Ultimate GoalAlthough his talent is limited, Christopher still hopes to become a playwright. Until then, he will continue to write articles and reviews. He should be considered an 'Artiste' rather than a 'Poseur' however, as his attempts are sincere and he puts a great deal of effort into them.Immediate Goal-Resources- |
